At St. Aidan’s National School, we are committed to providing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that supports every child in reaching their full potential. Our teaching and learning are guided by the Primary Curriculum Framework, which outlines the nature, structure and content of the curriculum for primary schools in Ireland.

This framework provides the foundation for high-quality learning, teaching and assessment, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to thrive both as an individual and as an active member of their community and society.

Curriculum Areas

The curriculum is organised into five key areas which shape the learning experiences of all pupils:

  • Arts Education
  • Language
  • STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
  • Social and Environmental Education
  • Wellbeing

In addition, the Religious/Ethical/Multi-belief and Values Education (Patron’s Programme) is developed and delivered in line with the guidance of the relevant patron bodies.

Through this comprehensive curriculum, we aim to foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and a love of learning in all our pupils.
